A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Windows, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This issue is caused by an error in implementations of Active Directory, Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM), and Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) when processing specially crafted LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) requests, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a vulnerable system to stop responding and automatically restart, creating a denial of service condition.
