A vulnerability has been identified in Skype for Windows, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by an input validation error within the processing of file extensions of file names supplied via a "file:" URIs, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass the security warning and execute arbitrary programs on a vulnerable system by tricking a user into following a specially crafted "file:" URI.
