Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in EMC AlphaStor, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system.
The first issue is caused by an input validation error in the Library Manager (robotd) that does not validate user-supplied requests sent to port 3500/TCP before being passed as arguments to a "CreateProcess()" call, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary programs with SYSTEM privileges.
The second vulnerability is caused by buffer overflow errors in the Server Agent when processing malformed requests sent to port 41025/TCP, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary commands with SYSTEM privileges.
