A vulnerability has been identified in Mandriva, which could be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code. This issue is caused by a format string error in the grant helper (polkit-grant-helper.c) in PolicyKit when processing user-supplied passwords, which could be exploited by malicious users to crash an affected application, bypass authentication, or potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
