A vulnerability has been identified in CDNetworks Nefficient Download, which could be exploited by attackers to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by an input validation error in the NeffyLauncher ActiveX Control (NeffyLauncher.dll) that does not validate data supplied via the "HttpSkin" and "SkinPath" parameters, which could be exploited by malicious web sites to cause an affected browser to download and place a malicious file into an arbitrary location (e.g. Startup folder) and execute arbitrary code.
Note: A design error also exists in the KeyCode generation code, which could be exploited by attackers to cause the vulnerable control to be loaded via an arbitrary domain.
