A vulnerability has been identified in PowerDNS Recursor, which could be exploited by attackers to gain knowledge of sensitive information and poison a DNS cache. This issue is caused by an error in the randomization of the TRXID and the UDP source port that uses the predictable standard C library (stdlib) functions (i.e. "rand()" and "srand()"), which could allow attackers to potentially guess the next DNS transaction ID field and UDP source port that will be used by the sever.
