Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in IBM AIX, which could be exploited by local attackers to gain elevated privileges, or by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code.
The first issue is caused by errors in X server, which could be exploited by malicious users to obtain elevated privileges. For additional information, see : FrSIRT/ADV-2008-0179
The second vulnerability is caused by an off-by-one error in the AIX libc (/usr/ccs/lib/libc.a) implementation of the "inet_network()" function, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. For additional information, see : FrSIRT/ADV-2008-0154
