Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in NetWin SurgeMail and WebMail, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or potentially take complete control of an affected system.
The first issue is caused by a format string error in the webmail interface when building error messages, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash an affected application or potentially execute arbitrary code by passing a malformed parameter to "scripts/webmail.exe".
The second vulnerability is caused by a buffer overflow error when building environment variables while calling non-virtual CGI executables, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash an affected application or potentially execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted request.
