A weakness has been identified in DNSSEC-Tools, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass security restrictions. This issue is caused by an error in the libval validation library where the APEX trust anchor key is not properly checked to ensure that it is the signing key in use, which could be exploited to bypass certain security restrictions.
