Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Xdg-utils, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code. These issues are caused by input validation errors in the "xdg-open" and "xdg-email" shell scripts when processing URLs, which could be exploited by attackers to inject malicious commands by tricking a user into following a specially crafted link with a vulnerable application linked against Xdg-Utils (e.g. an email client) and not running in KDE, GNOME or XFCE.
