Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS), which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system. These issues are caused by buffer overflow errors in the library containing XDR functions used by the RPC components, which could be exploited by attackers to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code by sending specially crafted data to the Informix Storage Manager (ISM) RPC ports 7937 (nsrexecd), 7938 (nsrexecd), 7939 (nsrd), 7940 (nsrmmdbd), 7941 (nsrmmd), 111 (portmap - Windows only), and 36890 (portmap - Windows only).
