A vulnerability has been identified in PulseAudio, which could be exploited by malicious users to obtain elevated privileges. This issue is caused by an error in the "pa_drop_root()" [daemon/caps.c] function that ignores "setuid()" return values when dropping privileges, which could be exploited by local attackers to potentially gain "root" privileges.
