A vulnerability has been identified in FreeBSD, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by an off-by-one buffer overflow error in the "inet_network()" [lib/libc/inet/inet_network.c] function when processing malformed data, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code by passing specially crafted data to a program linked against the affected function.
