Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Microsoft Windows, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system.
The first issue is caused by an error in the Windows kernel when processing fragmented router advertisement ICMP packets, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a vulnerable system to stop responding via specially crafted ICMP packets.
Note : Router Discovery Protocol (RDP) is required in order to exploit this vulnerability (disabled by default).
The second vulnerability is caused by an error in the Windows kernel when storing the state of IGMP requests processed by TCP/IP, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash or compromise a vulnerable system via specially crafted IGMPv3 and MLDv2 packets.
