A vulnerability has been identified in KDE KDM, which could be exploited by malicious local users to cause a denial of service. This issue is caused by an input validation error when parsing specially crafted files, which could be exploited by an authenticated attacker to exhaust all available memory resources or cause a vulnerable application to stop responding by placing a specially crafted login image file (~/.face or ~/.face.icon) or a preferred display manager configuration file (~/.dmrc) in his home directory.
