A vulnerability has been identified in Sun Solaris 10, which could be exploited by remote attackers to bypass security restrictions and compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by errors in kernel patches 120011-04 or later (SPARC) and 120012-04 or later (x86) when installed on systems which are configured as NFS servers and grant root user access to one or more netgroups, which could allow remote root users on systems which are not part of the configured netgroup(s) to also have root access to files shared by the NFS server.
