Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in 3ivx MPEG-4, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system. These issues are caused by buffer overflow errors when processing malformed MP4 files, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted file using an application linked against a vulnerable codec (e.g. Windows Media Player).
