Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by local or remote attackers to cause a denial of service.
The first issue is caused by an error in the "wait_task_stopped()" [kernel/exit.c] function that does not properly handle certain exit conditions when checking if a process was "not dead", which could be exploited by local attackers to panic a vulnerable system.
The second vulnerability is caused by a NULL-pointer dereference error in the "tcp_sacktag_write_queue()" [net/ipv4/tcp_input.c] function, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash a vulnerable system via specially crafted ACK packets.
