A vulnerability has been identified in Archive::Tar (module for Perl), which could be exploited by attackers to bypass security restrictions and potentially compromise an affected system. This issue is caused by an input validation when processing file and directory names in a Tar archive, which could be exploited by attackers to place malicious files in arbitrary directories by convincing a user to extract a specially crafted archive.
