A vulnerability has been identified in Mercury Mail Transport System, which could be exploited by malicious users to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the IMAPD module when processing a specially crafted argument passed to a "SEARCH" command, which could be exploited by remote authenticated attackers to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.
