A vulnerability has been identified in Trolltech Qt, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code. This issue is caused by an off-by-one buffer overflow error in the "QUtf8Decoder::toUnicode()" [qt3/src/corelib/codecs/qutfcodec.cpp] and "QUtf8Codec::convertToUnicode()" [qt4/src/corelib/codecs/qutfcodec.cpp] functions when processing and expanding Unicode strings, which could be exploited by attackers to crash an application linked against Qt or potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
