A vulnerability has been identified in Mercury Mail Transport System, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the SMTP service when processing an overly long argument passed to the AUTH CRAM-MD5 command, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted command to a vulnerable application.
