A vulnerability has been identified in Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS), which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service. This issue is caused by an error when processing a flood of TCP SYN packets sent to port 139 or 445 while the application is configured for Edge Services using Common Internet File System (CIFS) optimization, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a vulnerable device to enter into an unresponsive state, creating a denial of service condition.
