Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Symantec Reporting Server, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass security checks or by malicious users to obtain elevated privileges and sensitive information.
The first issue is caused by the improper initialization of a variable when handling files created in the process of exporting data, which could be exploited by malicious users to create and execute a malicious file with the privileges of the application.
The second vulnerability is caused by an error when handling failed log in attempts, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a vulnerable application to display a hashed version of the password, facilitating further attacks.
The third issue is caused by an unspecified error within the authentication system for the SCS Reporting server, which could be exploited by remote attackers to bypass authentication and access the reporting database.
