A vulnerability has been identified in Apple QuickTime, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by an input validation error in the "toQTPointer()" routine within the QuickTime Java extensions (QTJava.dll) when processing parameters supplied through the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary coode on a vulnerable Mac OS X or Windows system by tricking a user into visiting a malicious Web page using Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer browsers.
