Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS), which could be exploited by attackers to bypass security checks and obtain sensitive informaion, or by malicious users to gain elevated privileges.
The first issue is caused by the presence of a fixed username and password for FTP backup operations, which could allow an attacker to read from and write to arbitrary files on the server hosting a vulnerable application.
The second vulnerability is caused by an error in the authentication system, which could be exploited by unprivileged users to access information from any configuration page or obtain full administrative control of WCS and the managed wireless networks.
The third issue is caused by a design error where several directories within the WCS page hierarchy are not password protected, which could be exploited by unauthenticated attackers to obtain information about the organization of the network, including access point locations.
