A vulnerability has been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by malicious users to obtain elevated privileges. This issue is due to buffer overflow errors in the "cm4040_read()" and "cm4040_write()" [drivers/char/pcmcia/cm4040_cs.c] functions when processing data larger than 512 bytes, which could be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.
