A vulnerability has been identified in Apple Mac OS X, which could be exploited by malicious users to cause a denial of service. This issue is due to an error when calling the "shared_region_map_file_np()" function with a specially crafted "mapping_count" value, which could be exploited by local attackers to crash a vulnerable system or exhaust all available memory resources, creating a denial of service condition.
