A vulnerability has been identified in w3m, which could be exploited by attackers to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is due to a format string error in the "inputAnswer()" [file.c] function when processing malformed data and the application is running with the "-dump" or "-backend" option, which could be exploited by malicious web sites to execute arbitrary commands via a specially crafted SSL certificate containing a malformed CN (Common Name) field.
