A vulnerability has been identified in CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system. This flaw is due to a buffer overflow error in the Discovery Service when processing malformed packets, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.
