Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands or cause a denial of service.
The first issue is due to a buffer overflow error when processing initial sign-on requests with a specially crafted "language" field, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash or compromise a vulnerable server.
The second vulnerability is due to buffer overflow errors in the "SmExecuteWdsfSession()" function when processing certain fields, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands.
The third flaw is due to a buffer overflow error when processing open registration messages with a specially crafted "contact" field, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable server.
