A vulnerability has been identified in GnuPG, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands or cause a denial of service. This flaw is due to a buffer overflow error in the "ask_outfile_name()" [openfile.c] function that does not validate the size "n" before allocating a destination buffer ("prompt") that will be used as an argument in a "sprintf()" call, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary commands via a specially crafted message.
Note : Only applications running in interactive mode are affected by this issue.
