Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in AOL Winamp, which could be exploited by attackers to take complete control of an affected system.
The first issue is due to a buffer overflow error in the Ultravox protocol handler when processing the "ultravox-max-msg" header, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a specially crafted playlist or a malicious "shout:" or "uvox:" URI.
The second flaw is due to a buffer overflow error when handling malformed Lyrics3 tags, which could be exploited by malicious web sites to execute arbitrary commands via a specially crafted playlist or a malicious "shout:" or "uvox:" URI.
