A vulnerability has been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service. This flaw is due to errors in the "arch/ia64/kernel/sys_ia64.c", "arch/sparc/kernel/sys_sparc.c", and "arch/sparc64/kernel/sys_sparc.c" scripts when handling certain ELF files, which could be exploited by malicious users to crash a vulnerable IA64 or SPARC system via a specially crafted ELF file, creating a denial of service condition.
