A vulnerability has been identified in 3Com TippingPoint IPS running TOS (TippingPoint Operating System), which could be exploited by attackers to bypass security restrictions. This flaw is due to an error when handling certain malformed packets, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a vulnerable device to fallback to layer 2 mode (L2FB) and block traffic (denial of service) or allow all traffic to pass uninspected.
