Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Wireshark (Ethereal), which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system or cause a denial of service. These flaws are due to format string, off-by-one, buffer overflow, and infinite loop errors affecting the GSM BSSMAP, ANSI MAP, Checkpoint FW-1, MQ, XML, MOUNT, NCP NMAS, NDPS, NTP, SSH, and NFS protocol dissectors, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands or crash a vulnerable application.
