Gentoo has released updated packages to address a vulnerability identified in the JPEG library. This flaw is due to an error when JPEG is compiled without the "--maxmem" feature, which could be exploited by attackers to exhaust all available memory resources via a specially crafted image, creating a denial of service condition.
