A vulnerability has been identified in Shadow, which could be exploited by local attackers to bypass security restrictions and potentially gain elevated privileges. This flaw is due to a race condition in the "useradd.c" file that creates the users mail spool file with insecure permissions, which could be exploited by malicious users to gain write permissions to an arbitrary SUID file during a short period of time.
