Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands or cause a denial of service.
The first issue is due to a buffer overflow error in the "do_replace()" function [Netfilter module], which could be exploited by attackers to cause a kernel memory corruption and possibly execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.
Note : Information from the vendor states that the overflow can only be exploited by local root users, in which case this issue should not be treated as a vulnerability.
The second flaw is due to a buffer overflow error in "drivers/usb/gadget/rndis.c" when processing NDIS responses to "OID_GEN_SUPPORTED_LIST", which could be exploited by attackers to cause a memory corruption and possibly execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.
