Debian has released updated packages to address a vulnerability identified in Crypt::CBC (Perl module). This flaw is due to an error in the RandomIV mode that uses an initialization vector (IV) of 8 bytes, which results in weaker encryption when used with a cipher that requires a larger block size than 8 bytes (.e.g Rijndael).
