A vulnerability has been identified in Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE), which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This flaw is due to an error in Java Web Start that fails to properly handle a specially crafted "JNLP" file, which could be exploited by attackers to read, write, and execute arbitrary files by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted web page containing a malicious applet.
