A critical vulnerability has been identified in KDE, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This flaw is due to a heap overflow error in the JavaScript interpreter engine (kjs/function.cpp) when decoding specially crafted UTF-8 encoded URI sequences, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system by convincing a user to visit a malicious web page containing a malformed JavaScript code via an application that uses the vulnerable engine (e.g. Konqueror).
