Multiple vulnerabilities were identified in FTGate, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands or conduct denial of service and cross site scripting attacks.
The first issue is due to a buffer overflow error when processing specially crafted POST requests (port 8089) with an overly large "tzoffset" value, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands.
The second flaw is due to a format string error when handling specially crafted POP3 commands (e.g. USER or PASS), which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to compromise a vulnerable system.
The third vulnerability is due to a format string error when processing malformed IMAP requests (e.g. AUTHENTICATE or LIST), which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This is a different vulnerability than FrSIRT/ADV-2005-2478
The fourth issue is due to input validation errors in the "index.fts", "domains/index.fts", "config/licence.fts" and "config/systemacl.fts" scripts that do not properly validate the "href" and "param1" parameters, which could be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross site scripting attacks.
