Multiple vulnerabilities were identified in Microsoft Internet Explorer, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands or disclose sensitive information.

The first issue is due to a design error in the processing of keyboard shortcuts for certain security dialogs, which could be exploited by remote attackers to delay the "File Download" dialog box and trick users into downloading and executing a malicious file.

The second vulnerability is due to a design error in the processing of mouse clicks in new browser windows and the predictability of the position of the "File Download" dialog box, which could be exploited to trick the user into clicking on the "Run" button of the dialog box.

The third flaw is due to an error in the way Internet Explorer behaves in certain situations where an HTTPS proxy server requires clients to use Basic authentication, which could allow attackers to read Web addresses in clear text sent from the browser to a proxy server.

The fourth issue is due to memory corruption errors when instantiating certain COM objects (Avifil32.dll, Comsvcs.dll, Mshtmled.dll, Ole2disp.dll, Oleaut32.dll, Outllib.dll, Quartz.dll, Repodbc.dll, and Shell.dll) as ActiveX controls, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This issue is similar to FrSIRT/ADV-2005-0935 and FrSIRT/ADV-2005-1450

The fifth vulnerability is due to an error in the way Internet Explorer handles mismatched Document Object Model objects, which could be exploited remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system by convincing a user to visit a malicious Web page.
