Gentoo has released a security patch to correct a vulnerability identified in Cheetah. The problem is that Cheetah, when importing modules, searches for modules in the world-writable "/tmp" directory before looking in the "PythonPath". A malicious local user could place a module containing arbitrary code in /tmp, which when imported would run with escalated privileges.
