A new vulnerability was identified in Sun ONE and Sun Java System Directory Servers, which may be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) or execute arbitrary commands. This flaw is due to a buffer overflow error in the Access Control Implementation for LDAP requests, which may be exploited by a local or remote unprivileged user to execute arbitrary commands on a vulnerable LDAP server with the privileges of the LDAP process or terminate the LDAP process.
